About the position

The Deputy Sales Manager at IKEA is responsible for driving sales and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. This role involves collaborating with the Sales Manager to execute the store's commercial action plan, overseeing the recruitment and development of staff, and motivating team members to achieve sales goals. The Deputy Sales Manager will also analyze market insights to inform strategic decisions and contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Sales Manager to drive the execution of the store's commercial action plan and sales priorities.
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of Shopkeepers and Selling co-workers.
  • Coach and mentor Shopkeepers to inspire their team's recognition of contributions and support co-worker relations.
  • Ensure Shopkeepers deliver seamless shopping experiences by setting clear expectations.
  • Motivate and develop team members by setting clear goals and improving sales strategies and resource planning.
  • Introduce best practices and new processes on a timely basis.
  • Analyze and share local market insights to inform strategic decisions on product presentation and pricing.
  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional store meetings and forums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience managing, leading, and developing people in a customer-centric or retail environment.
  • Experience in customer service, problem solving, and conflict handling techniques.
  • Experience in planning, driving output, and measuring performance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail sales management.
  • Knowledge of IKEA products and customer needs.
