About the position

The DER - Product Development Manager at Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategies for Distributed Energy Resources (DER), including Virtual Power Plants (VPP) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role involves working in a cross-functional environment to ensure the effective deployment of DERs, maximizing benefits for customers and shareholders while upholding safety and regulatory compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, leads and coordinates strategies for expanding PSE's VPP, BESS portfolio and overall DER enablement activities.
  • Identifies and develops use cases to create additional value for customers and shareholders.
  • Works with multiple internal groups to implement DER enablement strategies ensuring ownership, resourcing, budget and schedule.
  • Develops and manages project roadmaps through regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including coordinating associated budgets and schedules.
  • Develops partnerships with key vendors and builds relationships with, and negotiates contracts with external partners or vendors as necessary to support strategy development.
  • Tracks and incorporates industry trends and best practices into PSE's DER strategies and roadmaps.
  • Provides inputs to PSE's planning processes and regulatory filings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, engineering or related field
  • 7 years' experience in leading/implementing complex multi-disciplined market/program/product analysis, research, evaluation, or product launch
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver complex customer-facing products or projects
  • Excellent organizational, analysis, and problem solving skills including applying analysis and statistical methods to study complex and unique business issues.
  • Proven ability to lead or oversee financial modeling
  • Proven ability to identify and use advanced customer and marketing analytics
  • Proven project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to synthesize data and other information into clear, actionable deliverables
