About the position

The Design and Brand Manager at EveryStep is responsible for establishing the brand direction and visual style of the organization. This role involves collaborating with leadership to develop materials that align with the organization's strategic goals, while also providing project management, concept development, art direction, graphic design, and print production for promotional and educational materials.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and consistently follows brand standards and style guide.
  • Provides tools and guidance to all staff and external entities to ensure consistency and integrity of the organization's brand.
  • Identifies the need for new materials and/or works with leaders to develop new materials when appropriate.
  • Designs and edits printed promotional and educational materials for external audiences.
  • Demonstrates successful project management skills in assessing design requests, clarifying goals and available resources, and prioritizing subsequent workload.
  • Coordinates in-house and out-of-house production of promotional and educational materials, and assists with signage needs.
  • Researches printing technology, obtains bids and establishes print vendors for the organization.
  • Oversees maintenance of EveryStep's online store.
  • Manages sample inventory and works with vendor to develop processes and policies.
  • Tracks inventory of stocked printed materials and maintains order history to guide future expenditures.
  • Coordinates and provides art direction to freelance graphic designers and photographers.
  • Provides photography for marketing projects.
  • Establishes and maintains a system for managing digital assets.
  • Maintains in-house production equipment, contacts tech support as needed and orders supplies.
  • Researches and recommends new equipment and technology in order to continually improve in-house production quality, reduce costs or achieve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications or related field required.
  • At least 7 years' experience in related field; healthcare experience preferred.
  • Ability to write copy and design page layout.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain current knowledge of healthcare concepts and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally for multiple audiences.
  • Ability to plan, organize and handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Upon hire, advanced knowledge of various printing processes including offset and digital printing, screen printing, and other means of production.
  • Know how to prepare artwork for production (i.e., file construction, bleeds, file formats, Pantone colors, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to achieve departmental goals.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with Adobe InDesign, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of social media tools.
  • Must have valid driver's license, auto liability insurance and reliable transportation if driving is required.
