About the position

The Design and Brand Manager at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will play a crucial role in the School of Data Science and Society's communications team. This position focuses on providing in-house design support, creating digital, print, and web products that effectively communicate the School's key messages. The manager will oversee the design and production of various marketing materials while ensuring adherence to the University's brand guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design digital, print, and web products to communicate the School's key messages.
• Create, layout, update, format, produce, and deploy publications and marketing collateral materials.
• Maintain an accessible and user-friendly website with support from the University's ITS department.
• Lead design and project management functions for multiple simultaneous projects.
• Create templates using the University and School's brand guides for faculty and staff use.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Proven ability to design print and web work with a strong understanding of current design principles and aesthetics.
• Good client/customer skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to independently manage projects from start to finish within specific time frames and budgets.
• Strong communication skills with clients and vendors.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier, Acrobat).
• Knowledge of digital accessibility best practices.
• Experience with Office 365 and WordPress or other CMS.
• Experience with project management tools like Monday.com.
• Prior experience designing for web and digital applications.
