About the position

The Design Architect at iSeatz is responsible for leading the creation and maintenance of data-based design solutions that enhance user experiences across the platform. Reporting to the Director of Product Design, this role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure design consistency, adherence to accessibility standards, and alignment with business objectives. The Design Architect will mentor a team of designers and drive the evolution of design systems while engaging with stakeholders to optimize the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design vision for the iSeatz platform, ensuring alignment with business and user needs.
  • Collaborate with product managers to review stories and functional requirements for new features and initiatives.
  • Maintain design consistency and coherence across the iSeatz platform, striving for WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Drive the creation and evolution of design systems and component libraries.
  • Mentor and guide a team of designers, setting standards for design quality and innovation.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas for optimization and scale the platform.
  • Present proposed solutions internally and to clients to gather feedback and approval.
  • Work in an agile environment partnering with product teams and frontend architects and developers to implement designs.
  • Engage regularly with teams in a co-located space, approximately once per quarter.

Requirements

  • At least ten years of proven work experience in Product Design across web and mobile applications, preferably with five or more focused on design systems.
  • Master's Degree or above, or equivalent experience in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or related field.
  • Proven track record of leading complex design projects and driving business impact.
  • Strong background in user research, accessibility, and design thinking methodologies.
  • Experience working within and building upon design systems.
  • Skilled in designing mockups and creating prototypes using industry-standard design tools like Figma, Sketch, or comparable programs.
  • Must present a portfolio of industry examples illustrating step-by-step solutions to project requirements.
  • Experience driving design decisions for e-commerce solutions.
  • Experience working iteratively in cross-functional, agile environments alongside a geographically diverse team.
