About the position

We are seeking a Design Architect to collaborate with firm Principals and specialized planners to create innovative building configurations that incorporate current best practices in the industry. Your role will involve generating programmatic relationships, developing building designs that meet client needs and aesthetics, and assisting clients in understanding relevant design issues. You will also test designs against codes and emerging issues, articulate design principles for the detailing phase, and lead presentations of design concepts. As a Design Architect, you will be responsible for collaborating closely with firm Principals and specialized planners to ensure that the designs not only meet the aesthetic requirements of the clients but also adhere to the necessary codes and regulations. You will generate programmatic relationships that inform the building configurations, ensuring that the designs are functional and innovative. Your expertise in schematic design will be crucial as you create buildings that align with client needs and desired aesthetics. In addition to design creation, you will assist clients in understanding relevant design issues, providing them with insights and guidance throughout the design process. You will develop building designs in relation to codes and emerging issues, ensuring that all aspects of the design are compliant and forward-thinking. Articulating design principles for the detailing phase will be a key part of your role, as will authoring and supervising critical design details. Finally, you will lead presentations of design concepts, effectively communicating your vision and ideas to clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Experience in schematic design, design development, and architecture
  • Project management skills
  • Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Experience preparing construction documents for large, technically sophisticated projects
  • Experience as the Architect's Construction Phase Representative
