About the position

The Design Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Fashion group by managing and organizing various design-related tasks. This position involves hands-on activities such as cutting fabrics, preparing swatches, and assisting in the creation of mood and trend boards. The Design Assistant is responsible for maintaining the fabric library and ensuring the smooth operation of product samples and related materials.

Responsibilities

• Cut fabrics for sewn samples
• Prepare fabric swatches
• Assist with preparing mood and trend boards
• Manage and organize product samples, fabric lab dips, strike-offs, color chips, trims, etc.
• Dress and photograph samples
• Organize fabric library and storage
• Responsible for all parcels going to/from the Fashion group

Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in Fashion Design or a related field
• Multi-functional teamwork experience
• Project management experience
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong attention to details
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Beginning to intermediate level skills in Illustrator and Photoshop

• Knowledge of fabric, construction and design principles related to fashion
• Strong eye for color

• Fast learner, motivated with minimal supervision
