About the position

Skyworks is seeking a Design Automation Engineer 2 to join our innovative team in Newbury Park, CA. This role is pivotal in the development of high-performance analog semiconductors that are at the forefront of the wireless networking revolution. As a Design Automation Engineer, you will engage in hands-on experience with MCM artwork, EM simulation, and lab debugging and tuning. You will be responsible for creating simulations of EM simulations, including S-parameter graphs, utilizing advanced 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum, Sonnet, or HFSS. A solid understanding of device and process technologies is essential, and experience with SOI switch design is considered a plus. We are looking for a self-starter and team player who is eager to learn on the job and has a strong commitment to taking products from concept to volume production. Responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience in MCM artwork, EM simulation, and lab debugging and tuning.
  • Create simulations of EM simulations including S-parameter graphs.
  • Utilize 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum, Sonnet, or HFSS.
  • Work on SOI switch design as needed.
  • Understand device and process technologies to support design efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members to take products from concept to volume production.

Requirements

  • M.S./B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 10 years of experience in Electronic Design Automation (EDA).
  • Proficient with IC Design Software (i.e., Cadence Virtuoso) and IC Physical Verification tools (i.e., Mentor Calibre or Cadence Assura).
  • Experience with PDK and Pcell development is a major plus.
  • Familiarity with Foundry Kits, especially with TSMC, is a plus.
  • Proficient with UNIX/Linux and familiar with programming languages such as Cadence SKILL scripting language, PERL, Python, and/or Unix Shell Scripting.
  • Good interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SOI switch design.
  • Familiarity with Cadence SKILL scripting language, PERL, Python, and/or Unix Shell Scripting.
