About the position

The Design Build Project Quality Manager at HNTB is a pivotal role within the Design Build Organization, focusing on managing quality for fast-paced transportation infrastructure projects. This position involves developing and implementing the Quality Management System (QMS), training project teams, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The Quality Manager collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance quality performance, manage risks, and improve profitability on design-build projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the implementation of the program/project quality management plan in accordance with client and HNTB requirements.
• Participate in work planning to determine the level of effort required for quality management.
• Review and approve subconsultant quality plans and those of other entities under contract.
• Monitor adherence to the project quality plan and report on compliance.
• Work with leadership to develop and implement technologies and processes for effective quality management.
• Establish and implement quality performance metrics to achieve delivery and client quality objectives.
• Participate in monthly meetings to report on project quality performance.
• Develop and oversee quality management plan training.
• Manage and implement a quality audit program.
• Manage a corrective action system to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in quality management/engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years of experience managing a quality program, including auditing programs/projects in planning, design, or construction phases.
• Experience implementing quality management plans in compliance with ISO 9001 and/or FTA Quality Management System requirements.
• In lieu of education, 14 years of experience in a quality management position.

Nice-to-haves

• Registered Professional Engineer specific to Design-Build Projects
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
• PMP, DBIA, AICP, or CMAA Certifications.
