About the position

The Design + Development Associate at CB2 plays a crucial role in executing the assortment strategy and product development process for the Tabletop and Decor categories. This position involves managing the lifecycle of products from creation to launch, fostering business relationships, and aligning with financial and merchandising strategies. The role is hybrid, based in Chicago, and requires a creative and collaborative approach to modern design.

Responsibilities

• Execute all operational aspects of category product management by working with cross-functional departments.
• Manage the life of a SKU, from creation to in-store launch, to ensure the success of new product launch.
• Make recommendations to the Product Merchant and negotiate with vendors regarding business terms.
• Act as the central point of contact for issues outside the team's scope of work.
• Gather and synthesize information from partners to make strategic recommendations to Merchant.
• Participate in decision-making by providing expert recommendations regarding product mix.
• Analyze sales information to identify opportunities to increase sales and margins.
• Build and maintain assortment plans and SKU counts.
• Meet deadlines for the catalog merchandising schedule, including sample management.
• Lead and develop the Merchandising Operations Assistant, ensuring milestones are met.
• Create merchandise presentations and present new products in various formats.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 1+ years experience in Retail Merchandising
• Proficient with MS Office and Google Office Suites
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Organizational and analytical skills
• Strong project and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
