PACCAR WINCH Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of PACCAR, manufactures high-quality industrial winches, hoists, and drives for the oil/gas, construction, utility, and specialty markets. We have locations in Broken Arrow and Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Our business is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Design Drafter to support the development of exciting new winches, hoists, and drives and provide sustaining product support for BRADEN, CARCO, and Gearmatic products. This position is an on-site office position located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. As a Design Drafter, you will report to the product release supervisor and work closely with engineers, preparing and reviewing drawings and layouts of components and systems. You may also contribute to engineering change control processes. The role involves preparing drawings and production release documentation, peer reviewing drawings, and ensuring engineering requests are complete and appropriate. You will prepare layouts and designs that often require the use of involved descriptive geometry and trigonometry, and work with engineers to develop new products and revise existing products. Additionally, you will suggest dimensioning and tolerancing schemes, plan and carry out special related assignments or investigations as directed, and perform other related duties as assigned. The final grade level and compensation will depend on your experience, education, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares drawings and production release documentation.
  • Peer reviews drawings and production release documentation.
  • Reviews engineering requests for completeness and appropriateness.
  • Prepares layouts and designs which often require use of involved descriptive geometry and trigonometry.
  • Works with engineers to develop new products and revise existing products.
  • Suggests dimensioning and tolerancing schemes.
  • Plans and carries out special related assignments or investigations as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • May process/coordinate engineering change documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferably supplemented by technical training school.
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling in CAD.
  • Working knowledge of standard drafting practices.
  • Working knowledge of descriptive geometry and trigonometry.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerances per ASME Y14.5.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability gained through 7 or more years of experience in related assignments.
  • Experience with Creo and Windchill.
  • Experience managing an Engineering Change Request / Notice Process (ECN).
