Ulteig is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Design Electrical Engineer within the Automation, Integration, and System Protection (AISP) Department. The Design Electrical Engineer will be responsible for performing routine engineering tasks primarily in the system protection and SCADA disciplines. This role involves conducting short-circuit and symmetrical component analysis, time-current coordination, step-distance coordination, relay settings development, and ensuring compliance with NERC standards. The engineer will apply protection system engineering practices and principles across various areas including transmission lines, buses, transformers, capacitor banks, reactor banks, feeders, generators, motors, and communication-assisted protection schemes. In addition to these responsibilities, the Design Electrical Engineer will create SCADA point lists, develop remote terminal unit (RTU) programs, design human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and prepare metering overviews and calculations under the supervision of a lead engineer. The role also requires the development of complete design packages for site network and communication architectures that comply with both client and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and latitude in their work, ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with sound engineering practices.
