About the position

The Design Engineer Architect/Lead will oversee a small team of engineers, focusing on customer interactions related to physical synthesis and RTL content. The role emphasizes the importance of low power, optimized area, maximum performance, and high manufacturing yield in ASIC design. The individual will also define timing constraints and collaborate with the physical design team to ensure successful ASIC manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers in physical synthesis and RTL content development.
• Define and influence sub-system content for memory interfaces, NOC, and processor sub-systems.
• Define timing constraints in collaboration with customers.
• Interface with the physical design team to aid in ASIC closure and manufacturing.
• Utilize synthesis and physical synthesis tools to optimize designs.
• Debug timing constraints and analyze timing reports.
• Communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Organize and present large amounts of data clearly.
• Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in ASIC architecture, design, development, and verification.
• Strong understanding of VLSI and ASIC physical design.
• Significant experience with synthesis and physical synthesis tools, preferably Synopsys and Cadence.
• Deep understanding of PLLs and clock networks.
• Experience with static timing analysis tools, preferably Synopsys PrimeTime and/or Cadence Tempus.
• Ability to create and debug timing constraints and understand timing reports.
• Solid understanding of RC networks, Signal Integrity, Crosstalk Delay, and Glitch/Noise Analysis.
• Experience with advanced STA concepts such as POCV/SOCV/LVF modeling and path-based analysis.
• Proficient in coding with TCL and at least one other programming language.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Python, Ruby, or BASH programming languages.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large datasets.
