About the position

The Design Engineer at Dynamic Engineering is responsible for conducting due diligence investigations and performing preliminary design and engineering analyses for various site layouts, including retail, commercial, industrial, and residential projects. This role involves reviewing municipal regulations, preparing site plans, and coordinating with clients and consultants to ensure comprehensive site plan applications.

Responsibilities

  • Review municipal zoning and land development ordinances and applicable agency regulations to determine land development limitations for the property.
  • Prepare Site Investigation and Due Diligence Reports, including the review of ordinances, utility service research, outside agency regulations, and site visits.
  • Prepare Conceptual Site Plans.
  • Prepare preliminary Grading Plans and Design.
  • Design Stormwater Management and Stormwater Conveyance Systems, Utility Systems, and Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Design Plans.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Coordinate projects with clients, other consultants, and project teams for comprehensive site plan applications.
  • Prepare technical reports including drainage, sanitary sewer, and site investigation reports.
  • Prepare written correspondence to outside agencies, clients, contractors, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-4 years' experience in Civil Site Engineering (residential, institutional, industrial, and/or commercial site design and permitting experience).
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD for site plan drawings production.
  • General knowledge of Truck and Turning & Modeling software.
  • General knowledge of the planning and zoning process.
  • General knowledge of Hydrologic and Hydraulic and Stormwater Design.
  • Design and drafting capabilities.
  • Grading and drainage design skills.
  • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and review professionals.
  • General knowledge of available mapping websites for due diligence and site investigation purposes.
  • General knowledge of design tools for site engineering: AutoCAD Civil3D, Hydraflow, HydroCAD, PondPack, HEC-RAS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • General knowledge of Bluebeam Revu and/or Adobe for design document markups.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Independent and critical thinking abilities.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.
