The Design Engineer II - Hardware position at Genie, located in Bothell, WA, is an exciting opportunity for an electronics engineer who enjoys hands-on work and wants to be involved in every aspect of electronics design. Genie is a global leader in the design and production of aerial work platforms and material handling equipment, and this role is integral to the Control Systems Engineering team. The successful candidate will engage in control system design, integration, and testing specifically for off-road construction equipment. This position requires a well-rounded, hands-on electronics hardware engineer who can contribute to the specification, design, production launch, and sustaining of Electronic Control Units (ECUs). In this role, you will be responsible for electronic circuit designs, schematic capture, and PCB layout for ECUs and related accessories. You will also be involved in embedded software design using C, modeling electronics in 3D CAD, and planning and monitoring progress against program commitments. Effective documentation of designs and liaising with suppliers and other disciplines will be key components of your responsibilities. You will participate in a team environment to design and sustain electronic control systems for construction machinery, ensuring that all systems meet the required specifications and performance standards. The position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a strong team collaboration. Occasional travel may be required, but it is expected to be less than 5%.
