About the position

The Design Engineer will be part of a successful software development team in Lincoln, Nebraska, focusing on application and embedded software development for the EFJohnson radio product line. The role involves developing and maintaining software, adhering to the Product Life Cycle process, and collaborating with other engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications software for EFJohnson's subscriber and infrastructure product lines.
• Develop requirements and protocol documents for new and existing products.
• Establish and maintain good inter/intra departmental communication.
• Identify and correct defects in existing products.
• Respond to special assignments/projects as directed by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Experience with C++ and database design is preferred.
• Embedded software development experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of land mobile radio or other communications standards is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude are essential.
• Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate level of knowledge of development tools, test equipment, and documentation procedures is desired.
