About the position

Our client in Winchester is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the manufacturing team. The Mechanical Engineer contributes to a team responsible for planning, conceptualizing, and creating designs for new industrial equipment. Your responsibilities are to support Operations, R&D, Sales, and Maintenance groups on the development of new equipment, maintaining and improving existing equipment, and increasing capabilities for an expanding product line. You will spend your days actively engaging other team members to develop processes and equipment that meet the business needs. In this role, you will create a culture of safety, increase awareness and compliance to procedures to achieve zero OSHA recordables, and implement best practices and improvements regarding industrial hygiene. You will also develop machine specifications as needed for one-off proprietary equipment and functional machine/machine component designs by conducting research, applying knowledge of Ashworth products, fabrication, assembly, tooling, materials, conferring with equipment vendors, and soliciting observations from operators. Additionally, you will create FAT/SAT acceptance criteria confirming equipment meets specifications and quality by developing test matrix, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing work or quality standards. You will actively manage internal and external projects by developing schedules and budgets, resource planning, documentation, developing vendor partnerships, progress reporting, risk assessment, and team leadership. Lastly, you will produce engineering documentation such as standardized work procedures, operational manuals, and troubleshooting guides.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited program (Preference is a BSME).
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling (Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD is acceptable).
  • Familiar with document control, Autodesk Vault experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
