About the position

The position involves managing engineers within the Design Digital - Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Branch at PSEG Power. The role focuses on overseeing engineering tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory programs, and supporting design management for both online and refueling outage activities. The candidate will be responsible for managing workload, priorities, and engineering costs associated with operations and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Managing workload and priorities of the Digital - I&C Branch.
• Providing management oversight of design engineering tasks including engineering changes, design analyses, critical digital reviews, and technical evaluations.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory required programs such as the corrective action and environmental qualification programs.
• Providing design management support for both online and refueling outage activities, license change requests, emergent design-related requests, and operability determinations.
• Managing engineering costs associated with O&M and capital projects.
• Supporting and managing shift coverage for refueling outages and emergent plant issues.

Requirements

• BS Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of engineering experience, preferably within a commercial nuclear power setting.
• Familiarity with PWR and/or BWR operations.
• Familiarity with INPO engineering design expectations and the ability to drive site improvement for sustained excellent performance.
• Demonstrated flexibility with changing priorities and adaptive ways of doing business.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to manage a diverse workforce.
• Must meet nuclear requirements for unescorted site access.
• Must meet US Dept of Energy requirements for access to nuclear technology information under 10 CFR 810.

Nice-to-haves

• BS Degree in Electrical or Controls.
• Experience related to either electrical and/or instrumentation and controls (I&C).
• Advanced engineering degree and/or PE license.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in an engineering supervisory/leadership position.
• Procurement engineering knowledge or experience.
• Understanding and use of applicable regulatory guides, NUREGs, IEEE, and ISA standards as they relate to design engineering activities.
