LHB's growing Public Works Structures and Survey group has an immediate opportunity for a Civil Engineer to serve as a Design Lead out of our Duluth or Minneapolis offices. The position is preferred as hybrid based in our Duluth or Minneapolis locations, but fully remote candidates will be considered under the right circumstances if they reside in states where LHB is licensed to do business.

Responsibilities

  • Leading project design for municipal and transportation related projects for public and private projects
  • Interacting with clients, public, and agencies as needed
  • Preparing written reports and project documents
  • Ensuring LHB QA/QC processes are followed
  • Working effectively in a team setting while collaborating with project managers, engineers, and technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 4+ years of professional design experience in roadway and/or municipal design
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements including a criminal/civil background check and drug screen.

Nice-to-haves

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Minnesota or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation ORD and/or GEOPAK
  • Previous experience working with MnDOT and/or counties & municipalities in Minnesota.
