About the position
The Design Ops role is focused on unifying design teams within a prominent North American retail company. The individual will align processes and protocols across teams, manage timelines, run sprint ceremonies, and assist with backlog management. The position requires defining a standard approach for sprint planning and operational efficiency, while also implementing onboarding processes for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Unify design teams by aligning processes and protocols.
- Create and track timelines for projects, providing updates on project status.
- Run sprint ceremonies to determine team commitments for each sprint.
- Assist with backlog management, identifying performance strengths and struggles.
- Define and implement a standard approach for sprint planning across all groups.
- Identify and escalate roadblocks as necessary.
- Define and track KPIs to ensure operational efficiency.
- Design and implement onboarding processes for new hires.
Requirements
- 2-3 years' experience as a project manager/coordinator, including creating timelines and capacity plans.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum practices, including running sprint ceremonies and managing backlogs.
- Proficiency in tools such as Miro, Figma, or Confluence for design work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction and reach out to stakeholders as needed.
- Experience in product design and/or supporting product design teams.
- Understanding of lean UX practices.
