The Design Production Manager plays a critical role in helping us maintain our reputation as a leader in the floral/service industry. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a creative and well-rounded design team. The Design Manager will manage day-to-day activities, provide training, guidance, and oversight for all departmental activities and staff. Acting as a role model, the Design Manager will drive employee performance and uphold higher company standards. This role requires a strong floral design background and exceptional creative talent to ensure that the design team meets the company's vision and quality expectations. In this position, the Design Manager will maintain and execute the company's visions at all times, ensuring that all line designers have the knowledge and materials necessary to accomplish floral assignments. The Design Manager will work closely with the Creative Director to train and educate line designers on menu items, while also communicating with the Creative Director and Flower Buyer regarding any issues related to menu items. Monitoring everyday production is essential, with the goal of improving efficiency and minimizing overtime. The Design Manager will implement and manage a Quality Control Program, review and improve all design policies, procedures, and service standards. Additionally, the Design Manager will create work schedules for the Line Designers and Design Assistants, coordinate bonuses, rewards, and incentives, and handle escalated customer complaints or issues. This role also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of POS systems and ensuring that all Line Designers are equipped with the necessary POS knowledge. The Design Manager will provide coaching and feedback, conduct quarterly performance reviews, and maintain an up-to-date standing account spreadsheet, distributing standings with input from the Creative Director. Developing processes and procedures to reduce COGS, including spot audits and waste reduction, is also a key responsibility. Completing supply inventory counts accurately and on time is essential to the role.
