About the position
The Design Sales Consultant at Dal-Tile is responsible for providing interior design and product selection advice, facilitating customer experience, and influencing sales decisions. This role utilizes the showroom as a selling tool to drive specifications and sales while enhancing brand awareness. The consultant will engage with customers, manage product selections, and maintain showroom displays, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide interior design advice and product expertise to customers.
- Facilitate tile and stone selection and project development support.
- Log all client showroom visits and maintain detailed customer preference notes in CMT.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal team members to ensure follow-up and sales closure.
- Prospect for new business, focusing on Custom Builders and Residential Designers.
- Make outside sales calls and follow up on leads to drive business growth.
- Maintain showroom samples and merchandising, including ordering and receiving samples.
- Plan and host showroom tours and events for industry trade to drive customer sales.
- Attend outside trade events to develop industry relationships and build brand awareness.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in a related field or four years of related experience, or a combination of a two-year degree with two years of related experience.
- Strong sales, customer engagement, and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of design, sketching, reading blueprints, and color coordination.
- Ability to conceptualize creative solutions and document them for clients.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with customer management tools is a plus.
- Excellent oral, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
