About the position

Delta Air Lines is embarking on a transformative journey to enhance its retail capabilities, aiming to revolutionize how it sells and services products while significantly improving the overall customer experience. The Enterprise Solutions (ES) team is at the forefront of this evolution, focusing on modernizing the customer and system interactions specifically for Delta's Seats Product. We are in search of a Design System Product Manager who will be instrumental in driving a creative vision that not only modernizes the Seats product but also integrates with existing legacy systems. This role is pivotal in leading the vision and execution of IT development roadmaps that align with our overarching Seats Strategy. The ideal candidate will take charge of the end-to-end product lifecycle, employing a systems-mindset to create a scalable product roadmap that meets the needs of our customers and the business. In this role, you will act as the product manager for agile development teams, formulating the business vision and prioritizing needs around a design system roadmap. You will dive into technical details alongside engineering teams to drive effective technical solutions. Collaboration is key, as you will work with both internal and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of Seats products across multiple systems. Your responsibilities will include building an executable product roadmap that balances business value, timing needs, and development complexity. You will also collaborate with other agile development teams to understand relationships and dependencies, ensuring that IT development leverages backend mechanisms effectively to achieve desired business goals. Ultimately, your work will ensure that functionality flows seamlessly through to customer and agent-facing channels, consistently adding expected value.

Responsibilities

  • Act as product manager for agile development teams.
  • Formulate the business vision and prioritize needs around a design system roadmap.
  • Dive into technical details with engineering teams and drive technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Proven success in understanding and managing complex processes.
  • Experience translating a business vision into written technical requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to business leaders and technical developers.
  • Must have the ability to work well with diverse groups in a time-sensitive and team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Results-oriented and capable of meeting or exceeding deadlines with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in airline industry technology systems preferred.
  • 5+ years of product management experience in a fast-paced technology-driven company.
