The Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) position at Compass Health is a vital role within the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) in Mount Vernon, WA. This part-time, on-call position is designed for professionals who are passionate about providing immediate crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health issues. The MCOT operates in various community settings, including homes, schools, and shelters, ensuring that support is accessible to adults, adolescents, and children in need, regardless of their funding source. The DCR will engage in short-term crisis intervention and prevention services, employing strength-based, solution-focused, culturally competent, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches to care. As a DCR, you will be responsible for delivering mental health services to individuals in crisis, which may include evaluating the need for involuntary detention when appropriate. Your work will primarily take place in community settings, where you will collaborate with individuals in crisis and their families to develop effective plans for managing current and future crises. This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, as you will provide support and backup to your colleagues as needed, ensuring that the MCOT operates effectively and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s degree in a Behavioral Science-related field and hold current Washington State Licensure or an equivalent in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling. Experience in the medical, mental health, or social services field is preferred, along with a demonstrated knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices. The DCR will also need to attend the DCR Academy and pass a pre-employment criminal background check. Strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
