About the position
The On-Call Designated Crisis Responder (DCR) at Compass Health provides essential crisis intervention mental health services to individuals of all ages experiencing acute behavioral health issues. This role primarily involves evaluating individuals in crisis, potentially for involuntary detention, and delivering support in community settings such as homes, schools, and shelters. The DCR will also back up team members as needed, contributing to the Mobile Crisis Outreach Team's mission of offering culturally competent and recovery-oriented interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention mental health services to individuals experiencing acute behavioral health issues.
- Evaluate individuals for involuntary detention when appropriate.
- Deliver services primarily in community settings, including homes, schools, and shelters.
- Support and back up team members as needed.
- Utilize strength-based, solution-focused, culturally competent, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented interventions.
Requirements
- MA/MS/MSW Degree in a Behavioral Science related field.
- Current Washington State Licensure or equivalent in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling preferred.
- Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined by WAC.
- Experience in medical, mental health or social services field preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn.
- Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination within 10 days of hire.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License required including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.
- Ability to attend the DCR Academy by the time of the first annual review required.
