About the position

The Designer position at McGriff Architects is a full-time role for individuals with 3-5 years of experience in architectural design, particularly in residential projects within the Bay Area. The role emphasizes collaboration within small teams, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage various project phases. The Designer will be responsible for creating well-coordinated drawings, assisting with research tasks, and producing presentation materials, all while contributing to the growth of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Create reliable, well-coordinated drawings across all phases of design.
• Collaborate with project managers and firm principals on design development and project deliverables.
• Assist with code and planning research, and other research tasks.
• Produce presentation materials.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with an architectural firm, ideally focusing on residential projects in the Bay Area.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Suite.
• Accredited degree in Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture).
• California license or in active pursuit of professional licensure.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with hand sketching.
• Familiarity with the unique design and construction environment of the Bay Area.
