About the position

Starbucks is seeking a Digital Product Designer to join its UX design team, focusing on marketing tools and customer-facing experiences. This role involves inventing, executing, and refining digital products, particularly for in-store and drive-thru digital menu boards. The designer will collaborate with various teams to enhance the customer experience and support complex workflows, ensuring that digital tools meet business objectives and user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively on a product team focused on major customer and internal user facing features.
  • Communicate rationale and background for design decisions.
  • Define features in collaboration with product management, aligning them with customer and business needs.
  • Design interactions for new features, applying existing design patterns across platforms.
  • Provide and receive feedback with other product designers.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of designs with data scientists and user researchers.
  • Ensure product accessibility in collaboration with accessibility technologists.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently, shipping new features and improvements based on customer needs.
  • Build and prototype designs using Figma and other tools.
  • Foster collaboration and innovation within the team.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of professional design experience, preferably in product design.
  • Ability to communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale both verbally and visually.
  • Experience in a product organization, driving design from planning to release.
  • Familiarity with UX workflows, interaction design, user research, prototyping, and visual design.
  • Experience working closely with developers to achieve functionality and design perfection.
  • Demonstrated visual design skills, particularly in layout hierarchies and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in designing internal or enterprise-level tools.
  • Large format digital display design experience.
  • Experience with agile or persistent teams.
