About the position

The Designer Drafter - Mechanical position at Parkson Corp. involves providing hands-on drafting support and coordinating with Project Engineers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of drawing packages. The role emphasizes adherence to industry standards and internal specifications, focusing on the preparation of detailed drawings, Bill of Materials, and other engineering documents to support various projects, particularly in the wastewater treatment sector.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detail drawings using CAD based on standards, sketches, and notes to support sales, engineering, and fabrication/manufacturing purposes.
  • Ensure drafting style consistency between drawings as per ANSI drafting standards and Parkson specific standards.
  • Organize and create Submittal Packages, Fabrication Documentation Packages, Bill of Materials with ERP Entry, Release and Management, and Installation Manual Creation.
  • Communicate and coordinate with project engineering to meet specifications and commitments.
  • Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality to ensure smooth flow of technical information for product quality work and meeting customer requirements and commitments.
  • Manage CAD files in Autodesk Vault environment and routine data in cloud storage.
  • Check own work and work created by other Designer/Drafters.

Requirements

  • A two-year associate's degree or certification from an accredited institution with focus on CAD or Engineering.
  • 2+ years mechanical or industrial design and CAD experience in 3D.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D-Software.
  • Experience with municipal water or wastewater treatment equipment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Working knowledge of ERP & PLM systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication, machining, welding, and assembly processes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with large or complex modelling and drafting.
  • Autodesk Vault experience beneficial.
