The Designer/Drafter is primarily responsible for producing production drawings for various products, including natural gas line heaters, industrial direct contact water heaters, and glycol dehydration units. This role involves creating both fabrication and assembly detail drawings based on the direction provided by the Project Engineer. The designer/drafter will be tasked with designing a drawing package that meets the specific requirements of each customer job. In some instances, the drawings will be based on established standards, while in others, they will draw from previous designs. The designer/drafter is expected to take the engineering handoff package and, with minimal instructions, create a comprehensive production handoff package for each project. Essential functions of the role include creating General Arrangement, Fabrication, and Assembly drawings for assigned projects using both 3D and 2D CAD software. The designer/drafter will also be responsible for maintaining parts, including their part numbers, descriptions, and specifications. Managing Engineering Change tasks within the PLM & ERP systems is another critical aspect of the job. The designer/drafter will generate drawing packages for production and service projects, interface with engineering, production, and purchasing personnel regarding Engineering Changes, and generate CNC files for the burn table using CAM software. This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime as job duties demand.
