About the position
As an Apparel Designer II at Nike, you will focus on designing functional apparel that incorporates the latest technologies while reflecting Nike's design philosophy. This role emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and innovation in product design, aimed at enhancing the athlete experience across various demographics including Men's, Women's, and Kids' apparel.
Responsibilities
- Design functional apparel highlighting Nike's newest technologies.
- Apply design skills to create original innovative ideas that reflect Nike's design philosophy.
- Communicate design concepts using programs such as Illustrator, Clo, and VizCom.
- Prepare presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts.
- Monitor the development of prototype samples and collaborate with product creation colleagues.
- Conduct research on current trends, color, technology, and sports-related products.
- Provide design support throughout each season and gain insights into the NXT Innovation process.
- Collaborate with internal partners to build enthusiasm for design work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in apparel design or related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant design experience in apparel design.
- Strong passion for design, fabrication, draping, and garment construction.
- Ability to translate consumer insights into product narratives.
- Fluency in pattern making and garment construction.
- Experience in creating inspiration/concept presentations and mood boards.
- Ability to create and edit files using Adobe programs including Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work under pressure.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Clo for exploring silhouettes and pattern making.
- Ability to participate in multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong sensibility of style and trend awareness.
