About the position

The Interior Designer position exists to serve priesthood leaders by providing temples, headquarters, and other facilities for their use to help bring souls unto Christ. The role involves designing, developing, specifying, and maintaining the interior design space planning and furnishing programs of complex worldwide Church facilities to enhance the function and quality of interior spaces. The designer will also provide consultation and coordination related to the Furnishings Program to various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plans and creates interior design programs for Church facilities by applying interior design experience and creative knowledge of space planning.
• Provides professional interior design consultation to Church departments upon request, including teaching and training.
• Correlates the research, evaluation, and procurement of furnishings for all Church facilities by gathering feedback from various stakeholders.
• Participates in the production of training materials and written guidelines by utilizing information from various sources.
• Consults with other Interior Designers, Architects, and management of related services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design and 8 years of non-residential interior design experience, or an Associate Degree in Interior Design with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Professional member of ASID or ICAA and hold NCIDQ registration.
• Thorough understanding of interior design and ability to provide solutions to complex design problems.
• Strong creative ability and effective communication skills to convey design ideas to varied audiences.
• Knowledge of furnishings, space planning, programming, architectural requirements, and building codes as they relate to interior design.
• CAD and basic rendering capabilities.
