About the position

The Designer / Interior Designer role involves engaging with customers to understand their design needs and preferences, providing tailored recommendations for products and design ideas that align with their budget and style. The position emphasizes customer interaction, sales targets, and maintaining a well-organized showroom while also participating in ongoing education to enhance design skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and work with customers on the sales floor, determining their wants and needs.
• Assist customers with product choices, explaining features and benefits of products.
• Help customers with their choices through decorating and design advice and recommendations.
• Keep up to date on the different selection of products offered along with the benefits and warranties provided.
• Meet with product vendors to become familiar and knowledgeable on the product.
• Establish and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
• Process quotes, write sales orders and other applicable documentation for orders.
• Work through, track, and follow-up on jobs through completion.
• Network regularly in the community to include branding the Company and yourself.
• Execute sales strategies.
• Provide follow-up support with customers in a timely manner.
• Maintain showroom by keeping samples and displays organized, current, and clean.
• Problem solve and look for new ways of doing things.
• Participate in educational opportunities as needed to refresh, update, and enhance skills and knowledge that pertains to job responsibilities.
• Monitor processes. Ensure they are efficient and effective to complete work in a timely manner while being accurate.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned or required.

• Creative talent and an eye for design.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or other business software applications.
• Associate degree in interior design preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 2 years sales and customer service experience.
