About the position

Custom Decorators, Inc. (CDI) is seeking experienced Design & Sales professionals to join our team as in-home custom window treatment consultants. As a division of Hunter Douglas, we are recognized as the premier in-home design and installation service for major retailers and brands across North America. Our specialization lies in custom-made window treatments, which include blinds, shades, shutters, and drapery. Our professional design and installation team is dedicated to providing customers with expert guidance, premium products, professional installation, and exceptional customer service throughout the United States and Canada. We manage all aspects of our customers' projects, from the creative concept through the ordering process and installation. With over 25 years of experience, our innovation and expertise have allowed us to offer ideal shop-at-home solutions and a tailored in-home shopping experience. We are looking for successful consultants who have backgrounds in interior design, window treatment sales, flooring sales, closet design, kitchen & bath, and more. Graduates with degrees in design or related fields, as well as independent design company owners looking to expand their business, are encouraged to apply. By partnering with CDI, you will benefit from quality cost-free leads generated through our partnerships with top-tier retailers, allowing you to increase your earnings part-time with uncapped earning potential. Our average sales exceed $3500, and you will have the flexibility to schedule appointments at your convenience. You will be selling branded products as Custom Decorators is the largest customer of Hunter Douglas. Additionally, you will have access to technology that allows you to manage client and sales information anytime and anywhere. This includes the ability to quote prices in the client's home, enter and track orders, and access product installation schedules. Our client services satisfaction team is dedicated to supporting you, enabling you to focus on selling, and you will have direct access to dedicated sales support team members.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients in their homes to design and sell custom window treatments.
  • Manage the entire sales process from initial consultation to installation.
  • Provide expert guidance on product selection and design options.
  • Utilize technology to quote prices, track orders, and manage installation schedules.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in interior design, window treatment sales, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • A degree in design or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with design software or tools.
  • Previous experience in a commission-based sales environment.
