About the position

Custom Decorators, Inc. (CDI) is seeking experienced Design & Sales professionals to join our team as in-home custom window treatment consultants. As a division of Hunter Douglas, we pride ourselves on being the premier in-home design and installation service for major retailers and brands across North America. Our focus is on providing custom-made window treatments, including blinds, shades, shutters, and drapery. Our professional design and installation team is dedicated to delivering expert guidance, premium products, and exceptional customer service to our clients throughout the United States and Canada. We manage every aspect of our customers' projects, from the initial creative concept to the ordering process and final installation. With over 25 years of experience, we have established ourselves as leaders in innovation and quality, offering tailored shop-at-home solutions that meet the unique needs of our customers. We are looking for successful consultants who have backgrounds in interior design, window treatment sales, flooring sales, closet design, kitchen and bath design, and more. We also welcome graduates with degrees in design or related fields, as well as independent design company owners who are looking to expand their business. Our consultants benefit from quality, cost-free leads generated through our partnerships with top-tier retailers, allowing them to focus on what they do best—selling. At CDI, we offer the flexibility to schedule appointments at times that are convenient for you, enabling you to increase your earnings part-time with uncapped earning potential. Our average sales exceed $3500, providing a lucrative opportunity for motivated individuals. Additionally, our consultants have access to technology that allows them to manage client and sales information anytime and anywhere. This includes the ability to quote prices in the client's home, enter and track orders, and access product installation schedules. We also provide robust support through our client services satisfaction team, ensuring that our consultants can dedicate their time to selling while receiving direct access to dedicated sales support team members.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-home consultations with clients to assess their window treatment needs.
  • Provide expert guidance on product selection and design options.
  • Manage the entire sales process from initial consultation to installation.
  • Quote prices and enter orders in the client's home using provided technology.
  • Track orders and installation schedules to ensure timely service.
  • Collaborate with the client services satisfaction team to address customer inquiries and issues.

Requirements

  • Experience in interior design, window treatment sales, flooring sales, or related fields.
  • A degree in design or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong sales skills and the ability to build relationships with clients.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as an independent design company owner.
  • Familiarity with custom window treatment products and installation processes.
