About the position

Custom Decorators, Inc. (CDI) is seeking experienced Design & Sales professionals to join our team as in-home custom window treatment consultants. As a division of Hunter Douglas, we pride ourselves on being the premier in-home design and installation service for major retailers and brands across North America. Our focus is on providing custom-made window treatments, including blinds, shades, shutters, and drapery. We manage every aspect of our customers' projects, from the initial creative concept to the ordering process and final installation. With over 25 years of experience, we have established ourselves as leaders in innovation and customer service, offering tailored in-home shopping experiences that meet the unique needs of our clients. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clients in their homes, providing expert guidance and recommendations for their window treatment needs. Successful consultants typically come from backgrounds in interior design, window treatment sales, flooring sales, closet design, kitchen and bath design, or related fields. We also welcome graduates with degrees in design or those who own independent design companies looking to expand their business. This position offers the flexibility to set your own schedule, allowing you to balance your work and personal life effectively. At CDI, we provide our consultants with quality, cost-free leads generated through our partnerships with top-tier retailers. This means you can focus on what you do best—selling—without the hassle of lead generation. With uncapped earning potential, our consultants can average sales of over $3500 per project. Additionally, you will have access to technology that allows you to manage client and sales information from anywhere, enabling you to quote prices, enter and track orders, and access installation schedules directly in the client's home. Our dedicated client services satisfaction team is here to support you, ensuring you can maximize your selling time and achieve your financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home consultations for custom window treatments.
  • Manage all aspects of the customer project from concept to installation.
  • Generate and follow up on leads provided by the company.
  • Quote prices and enter orders in the client's home.
  • Access and manage client and sales information remotely.
  • Collaborate with the client services satisfaction team for support.

Requirements

  • Experience in interior design or window treatment sales.
  • Strong sales skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
  • Familiarity with design software and technology for sales management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree in design or a related field.
  • Background in flooring sales, closet design, or kitchen & bath design.
  • Experience as an independent design company owner.
