About the position

As a Mid-Level Designer at Gensler, you will leverage your creativity and technical knowledge to produce functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including workplace, commercial office buildings, education, and healthcare, while fostering a collaborative and inspiring design environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform interior design assignments including interpreting client needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Make independent judgments in evaluating, selecting, and modifying standard techniques and procedures.
  • Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
  • Generate designs using 3D models, Revit, Sketchup, or other software, and create digital 3D views to communicate design concepts.
  • Create interior finishes and reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections for construction.
  • Provide design support and documentation during the execution of design concepts.
  • Collaborate with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators.
  • Guide and mentor junior designers.
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of design or architecture.
  • 5+ years of design leadership in interior design and/or architecture projects, with recent experience in workplace, education, and/or healthcare projects.
  • LEED accreditation or WELL AP preferred.
  • Experience delivering highly sustainable design solutions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit and other computer design programs.
  • A portfolio showcasing workplace, education, or healthcare projects.
