About the position

The Mechanical Designer position at McKim & Creed involves providing technical and design services for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design projects. The role is part of a multi-discipline project team focused on producing design and construction drawings and specifications for various facilities. The designer will be responsible for completing tasks within budget and on schedule while effectively communicating with team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and design services for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design projects.
• Produce mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection design/construction drawings and specifications.
• Complete design tasks within budget and on schedule.
• Communicate effectively with the Group Manager, Project Manager, Sr. Mechanical Engineer, and design team.
• Perform field survey duties as required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of similar work experience, including Revit experience.
• Vocational certificate or two-year degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Good technical and communication skills.
• Methodical, precise, and consistent work ethic with the ability to tolerate change.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with healthcare work is preferred but not required.
• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
