About the position

In this Principal UX Designer role at Fidelity Asset Management, you will lead design efforts to create transformative and intuitive user interfaces in a fast-paced environment. Your work will establish standards and best practices for user experiences that support investment professionals and business partners, ensuring that digital products are visually appealing, functional, and user-centric. You will be responsible for innovating solutions for various design challenges, advocating for design decisions based on user and business goals, and optimizing performance through user research.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead design efforts to create intuitive user interfaces.
• Establish standards and best practices for user experiences.
• Create innovative solutions for product design challenges across various platforms.
• Lead design for new experiences and improve existing ones.
• Iterate on multiple interactive design solutions quickly.
• Advocate for design solutions based on user and business goals.
• Develop high-level storyboards, mock-ups, and prototypes.
• Assess and optimize performance of features through user research.
• Present design work to teams and senior leadership for feedback.
• Create user experience standards and guidelines to accelerate UI development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role.
• Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Illustrator, Sketch, Hype, Axure, and Keynote.
• Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design.
• Experience working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and directly with developers.
• Experience in an Agile/scrum environment.
