About the position

PlugShare is seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to enhance the PlugShare experience for our users. Your primary focus will be on understanding the user journey of electric vehicle (EV) drivers, which will guide you in developing essential design artifacts such as sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes. We are looking for someone who is not only strategic and creative but also possesses a strong sense of customer empathy and a pragmatic approach to design. Your collaborative working style will be crucial as you engage with cross-functional teams to ensure that user experience remains a priority throughout the product development process. As a UI/UX Designer at PlugShare, you will be responsible for designing and delivering wireframes, prototypes, and final designs across a variety of platforms, including iOS, Android, web, and automotive interfaces. You will create user personas and journey maps to effectively communicate design concepts and user flows. Advocating for the user will be a key part of your role, ensuring that their experience is considered at every stage of product development. You will also develop and maintain design systems and style guides to promote consistency across all digital products. In addition, you will work closely with our research team to conduct user research, analyze feedback, and perform usability testing to iterate on designs based on user insights. Staying current with industry trends and best practices in UX design will be essential to your success in this position, as you will be expected to incorporate these insights into your work to continually improve the user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver wireframes, prototypes and final designs for a wide range of devices and interfaces (iOS, Android, Web, automotive interfaces).
  • Create user personas, journey maps, and wireframes to communicate design concepts and user flows.
  • Advocate for the user and ensure that the user experience is a key consideration in all stages of product development.
  • Develop and maintain design systems and style guides to ensure consistency across all digital products.
  • Work with PlugShare's research team to develop user research and analyze user feedback to understand user needs and behaviors; conduct usability testing and iterate based on user feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in UX design and incorporate them into your work.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of UI/UX software product design experience in native mobile and web app/desktop experiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (industrial, information architecture, interaction design, graphics, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design process and high-quality user experience designs.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Miro, Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop or similar.
  • Excellent understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Experience with user research and usability testing.
  • Familiarity with web design best practices, Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, and Android's design guides.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
