About the position

Designtex is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. This role is pivotal in shaping the financial strategy and operations of the company, working closely with the President and other executives to provide insights and recommendations on financial matters. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, manage risks, ensure compliance, and lead a team of finance professionals, while also being involved in the strategic direction of the Digital Imaging division.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Lead and facilitate Designtex's annual planning process to achieve both near and mid-term financial targets.
• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and forecasting.
• Manage financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and sales tax.
• Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for the financial internal controls of the company and work with internal and external auditors.
• Build and lead a finance and accounting team of 15 financial professionals.
• Communicate with the Designtex Executive team and Steelcase corporate leaders on accounting and financial matters and performance to targets.
• Make decisions on investments and funding for the company's growth.
• Manage operating expenses to ensure spending targets are achieved and focused on high financial return initiatives and projects.
• Oversee the strategic direction and operations of Designtex's Digital Imaging division located in Portland, Maine.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 10 years' experience in accounting and finance management
• Demonstrated CFO or Controller level experience for a similar sized organization ($100 - $200 million)
• Proven experience with leading high performing and self-directed teams
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

Nice-to-haves

• MBA, CPA, CMA or other evidence of technical competence
• Prior experience leading an Operations Team
• Public Accounting experience.
