About the position

The Deskside Technician role at SAIC involves providing high-level technical support to executives and employees within the Department of Health and Human Services. This position focuses on delivering white glove deskside support, managing IT assets, and resolving technical issues through the ServiceNow platform. The technician will play a crucial role in maintaining hardware and software, conducting user training, and contributing to process improvements within the IT service desk.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support to executives and employees across the enterprise.
  • Manage Active Directory accounts and perform related administration tasks.
  • Support Microsoft Exchange and Office365 administration.
  • Plan and roll out Microsoft Windows 10 in an enterprise environment.
  • Install, connect, and maintain computer hardware including PCs, laptops, tablets, and printers.
  • Install and maintain software on users' devices, including antivirus and malware protection.
  • Conduct user training on approved software and hardware as needed.
  • Coordinate incident response and client response for IT operations failures.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operations Procedures for continual service improvement.
  • Perform routine IT system administration and health checks.
  • Conduct asset inventories and update inventory control systems as required.
  • Ensure high-quality deliverables to internal customers on time.
  • Provide off-hours maintenance and support as needed.
  • Evaluate and perform root-cause analysis on escalated issues.
  • Create documentation and knowledge base articles to assist with technical issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in IT support.
  • Advanced knowledge of networked environments and operating systems (Windows 7/8/10).
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Office365 administration.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
