About the position

The Desktop Support Analyst performs moderately complex analytical, technical, and administrative work related to the planning, design, and installation of computer systems. This role involves providing day-to-day consultation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving support to users for hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring compliance with County standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and ensure the effective operation of end user hardware and software, peripheral equipment, and mobile devices.
  • Monitor and respond to Service Center trouble calls and provide end user training in the use of equipment and software.
  • Diagnose simple to moderately complex problems and apply solutions in consultation with customers.
  • Ensure seamless interconnection of end user hardware, software, and devices with various systems such as file servers and application servers.
  • Create, run, and troubleshoot simple to moderately complex scripts, batch files, or installation procedures.
  • Perform moderately complex troubleshooting procedures across multiple technology platforms.
  • Coordinate with technical staff and customers to resolve client issues under the direction of the technical lead.
  • Review licensing problems and conduct software and hardware audits, providing reports and ensuring compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • 1 year of experience in installation, programming, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, or mobile devices, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Applicable Microsoft certifications or A+ certifications.
  • Knowledge of data networking, both wired and wireless.
  • Experience using computer diagnostic tools.
