About the position

The Desktop Support Engineer at FlexTrade Systems is responsible for supporting and maintaining business-critical systems and infrastructure across the company's global operations. This role involves working closely with various internal teams and technology departments to ensure the smooth operation of IT services, particularly focusing on desktop environments and cloud applications. The position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to providing excellent support to internal clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support, configure, and install Windows 10, 11, and MAC OSX workstations in physical and virtual environments.
  • Troubleshoot MS Outlook O365 email and other MS Office applications such as Excel, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Conduct audits on existing hardware and software to verify authorized use and maintain inventory of all hardware and software.
  • Maintain established standards and criteria for the performance of networks, PCs, and related equipment and software.
  • Support and troubleshoot mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Utilize business application skills in MS Teams (VOIP), Active Directory, O365, Lansweeper, etc.
  • Develop and maintain detailed and accurate documentation of FlexTrade systems and processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all systems and software assets and inventory.
  • Manage projects, prioritize workload, and multitask effectively.
  • Maintain patches, hotfixes, and virus updates for PC security and third-party applications using MS Intune and other platforms.
  • Understand networking principles such as LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, WIFI, and TCP/IP protocols.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Professional experience supporting, configuring, and installing Windows 10, 11, and MAC OSX workstations.
  • Experience troubleshooting MS Outlook O365 email and other MS Office applications.
  • Ability to conduct audits on existing hardware and software.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles such as LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, WIFI, and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams as well as independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive initiative in completing projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Financial Technology background with experience working in mission-critical environments.
