We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer for a 6-month contract to assist with large-scale deployments of Windows 10/11 on Dell computers. This role will involve providing direct support to end users, many of whom may have limited technical expertise, so strong communication and customer service skills are essential. The role also includes light ticketing support in collaboration with city and county IT systems. The Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for managing the deployment of Windows 10/11 across a wide range of Dell computers, ensuring that all installations are completed efficiently and effectively. In addition to deployment tasks, the engineer will provide on-site technical support to end users for hardware and software issues. This includes troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to desktops, laptops, and related peripherals. The engineer will work directly with non-technical users to guide them through setup, troubleshooting, and usage of their systems, ensuring a smooth transition to the new operating system. Collaboration with the IT team is crucial to ensure that deployments are on schedule and meet quality standards. The role also involves handling light ticketing and escalating more complex issues as needed in collaboration with city and county IT teams. Documenting and tracking all support interactions and deployments for reporting purposes is a key responsibility, ensuring that all actions taken are recorded for future reference and analysis.
