About the position

The Desktop Tech Support Specialist role is focused on providing technical support for PCs, printers, and mobile devices within the financial industry. The position requires on-site presence and involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, particularly with VMware VDI setups. The specialist will also be responsible for documentation and user manuals, ensuring efficient asset management and support for end-users.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for PCs, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain hardware and software.
  • Set up and troubleshoot Thin Client for VMware VDI.
  • Install Windows OS and perform memory & disk replacements.
  • Respond to user queries in person, over the phone, or via email.
  • Document technical support processes and update user manuals.
  • Manage asset documentation and inventory.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in PC technical support.
  • Experience with MDM support.
  • Familiarity with ticket management systems such as LANdesk, Remedy, or ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of scripted deployment of applications using Altiris or SCCM.
  • Proficient in Windows 7 and Windows 10.
  • Experience with Active Directory functions such as adding users and password resets.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking for troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with corporate antivirus software operations (e.g., Symantec).
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the financial industry.
  • Knowledge of VDI for at least 3 years.
  • Experience with desktop support for at least 3 years.
  • Familiarity with ticket management systems for at least 3 years.
  • Experience with Active Directory for at least 3 years.
  • Experience with antivirus software for at least 3 years.
