About the position

Robert Half is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer for a contract position in San Francisco, California. This role is essential for providing timely technical support to end-users within the investment and financial industry. The Desktop Support Engineer will work in a hybrid environment, addressing tech issues and ensuring optimal performance of Windows 10 systems and Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to end users and address their issues effectively
  • Provide excellent customer service while managing problems until they are resolved
  • Support Windows 10 environments and ensure they function optimally
  • Utilize Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer effectively to perform tasks
  • Manage and troubleshoot user accounts on Office 365
  • Use your working knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, and its associated tools to maintain the tech environment
  • Support remote access systems including MFA, Citrix, and VPN connections
  • Maintain a commitment to quality service and effective problem management
  • Use your knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AV systems such as Creston, Cisco, and Endpoint Manager (Intune), SCCM, and Auto Pilot to enhance service delivery
  • Leverage your knowledge and experience of ITIL in your daily tasks

Requirements

  • Must hold a minimum of three years of experience in a Help Desk Support Specialist role or similar
  • Proficiency in Android Development is essential
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Cisco Technologies
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft technologies and software
  • Must be comfortable with handling and troubleshooting Apple Devices
  • A solid understanding of Computer Hardware is crucial
  • Should be experienced with Configuration Management
  • Experience with Deployments is necessary
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 is required
  • Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Should be able to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Must be willing to continually update knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices is a plus.
