The Desktop Support Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services within the organization. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows-based computers and various peripheral devices. The engineer will also be tasked with installing and maintaining all business applications, ensuring that they function effectively for all users. A significant part of the role involves architecting desktop applications and wireless/network solutions to enhance the overall IT infrastructure. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Desktop Support Engineer will create printer mappings for clinical systems and escalate any errors to hardware and software manufacturers as necessary. The role requires managing user errors and requests through the IT/Facilities help desk ticketing system, ensuring that all issues are documented and resolved in a timely manner. The engineer will also be responsible for tracking company assets through an inventory database, maintaining accurate records of all IT equipment. A key aspect of this position is to understand and demonstrate that the main role of IT is to help others perform their jobs better, more efficiently, and more securely. The Desktop Support Engineer must maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and confidentiality while providing support to users across the organization.
