About the position

The Desktop Support Engineer at Leidos Inc. is responsible for providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for users across multiple domains, both locally and remotely. This role involves troubleshooting and maintaining workstations, printers, and peripheral devices, as well as managing user accounts through Active Directory and Exchange. The position requires excellent communication skills to support VIP and VVIP customers and a willingness to learn new technologies to enhance user support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and 2 support for multiple domains with users locally and remotely.
  • Work with Active Directory and Exchange to create, modify, and terminate accounts.
  • Troubleshoot workstations, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Image, install, and configure workstations.
  • Troubleshoot Windows 10 and above, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
  • Learn new technology and provide support to the user community.
  • Issue and maintain Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) tokens.
  • Work with automated Help Desk tools such as Microsoft System Center, Remedy, and ServiceNow.
  • Troubleshoot Citrix desktop visualization environment and thin client.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI.

Nice-to-haves

  • DHS or other government contract experience.
  • Knowledge of HEITS processes.
  • Comfortable discussing technical information with users and other support personnel.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and IT concepts.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to work freely as well as an integral member of a team.
