About the position

The Desktop Support Engineer position at Leidos involves providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for users both locally and remotely within the Department of Homeland Security's IT infrastructure. The role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting workstations, imaging and configuring systems, and supporting users with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be comfortable working with VIP and VVIP customers, while also being eager to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conveying and interfacing with customers and Leidos Site Lead on issues and daily tasking.
  • Providing Tier 1 and 2 support for multiple domains with users locally and remotely.
  • Troubleshooting workstations, servers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Imaging, installing, and configuring workstations.
  • Troubleshooting Windows 10 and above, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
  • Learning new technology and providing support to the user community.
  • Issuing and maintaining Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) tokens.
  • Working with automated desk tools such as Microsoft System Center, Remedy, and ServiceNow.
  • Troubleshooting Citrix desktop visualization environment and thin client.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI.

Nice-to-haves

  • DHS or other government contract experience.
  • Knowledge of HEITS processes.
  • Comfortable discussing technical information with users and other support personnel.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and IT concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and conclusion-making skills.
  • Ability to work freely as well as an integral member of a team.
