About the position

As a Desktop Engineer at SS&C, you will play a crucial role in shaping a new client-facing technology support team within the finance industry. This position involves providing on-site technical support to ensure seamless operations and swift problem resolution for some of the world's largest hedge funds and private equity administrators. You will be at the forefront of innovation in financial technology, influencing technology decisions and supporting organizations that impact global markets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee physical and virtual phones via RingCentral.
  • Support Multifactor Authentication with Duo for enhanced security.
  • Manage password protocols using SecretServer.
  • Handle physical office passes with Brivo.
  • Deploy software and troubleshoot remotely using Endpoint Central by ManageEngine.
  • Manage Zoom for desktop and Zoom Rooms.
  • Administer VMware Horizon and VMware vSphere.
  • Manage users and computers within Active Directory and Entra ID.
  • Handle Office 365 on both desktop and console.
  • Utilize Microsoft Intune for streamlined device management.
  • Administer Barracuda email and web filtering console.
  • Command the Trend Micro console for antivirus protection.
  • Oversee Adobe Creative Suite operations.
  • Ensure smooth printer functionality.
  • Deploy and manage hardware resources effectively.
  • Escalate critical issues as necessary, ensuring timely attention.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree, or a high school degree and 2 years of related experience.
  • Proven expertise in IT on-site support.
  • Good understanding and practical knowledge of critical end-user computing systems: Desktop and notebook computers, desktop operating systems and applications, smartphones, tablets, wearables, and other mobile devices, mobile, web, and cloud applications, virtual desktops and applications.
  • Understanding of the unique challenges faced by front office financial services.
  • Ability to recommend process improvements to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Effective and empathetic communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize client needs while maintaining security and compliance.
